Renovation Takes Time

Are you allowing God to renew you through the process, or are you frustrated that change isn’t instant?

Hebrews 6:12
"...imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised."

Devotional

Renewing your mind is more like renovation than a quick cleanup. When a house is renovated, old things are removed, damaged places are repaired, and new structures are built. It takes time, but the result is worth the process.

God does not simply tell us to clean up our thoughts. He tells us to renew our minds. That word carries the idea of making new again and again. It is a repeated practice, not a one-time moment. There will be days when you recognize a wrong thought quickly, replace it with truth, and feel strong. There may be other days when the same old thought tries to return.

That doesn’t mean you’re failing. It means you’re in process.

We live in a world that wants everything instantly. But spiritual growth often happens through faith and patience. The Word takes root. Truth begins to grow. Peace starts replacing fear. Hope begins to push through places where discouragement once lived.

Even physical healing often takes time. A broken bone may be set in a moment, but strength returns through recovery, movement, and patience. Your thought life can be the same way. God starts the work, then He faithfully continues it.

Don’t despise the process. Every time you choose truth over an old pattern, renovation is happening.

Application

Be patient with the process today and choose one truth to return to again and again.

Prayer

Lord, help me trust Your renewing work in me, even when change feels slow.
