See What God Says
Self-Reflection
What inner picture needs to be rewritten by the Word of God?
Key Scripture
Hebrews 11:1
“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”
Devotional
Faith is not only connected to what you say. It is also connected to what you see on the inside.
When you meditate on God’s Word, He begins to rewrite the inner picture you’ve been carrying. You stop seeing yourself as broken and begin seeing yourself whole. You stop seeing defeat and begin seeing victory. You stop seeing lack and begin seeing provision.
Worry knows how to create pictures too. It imagines the worst-case scenario, rehearses the bad report, and shows you a future God never promised. That is meditation, but it is meditation on the wrong thing.
God wants His Word to give your heart a new picture. Isaac went out to meditate in the field, and while he was meditating, what God had prepared was already moving toward him. Meditation was not wasted time. It positioned his heart to see what God was doing.
Your imagination should not belong to fear. Let Scripture shape what you see. Let the promise become clear on the inside until faith rises stronger than the problem in front of you.
Reflect
- What picture has fear been painting in your mind?
- What would it look like to see that situation through God’s promise instead?
Prayer
Lord, rewrite the inner picture I’ve been carrying. Help me see myself, my future, and my circumstances through the truth of Your Word.
