What You Feed Will Grow
What You Feed Will Grow
Self-Reflection
What has been growing in your heart because of what you’ve been meditating on?
Key Scripture
Psalm 1:2-3
“But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water.”
Devotional
Your mind is always growing something. Peace grows when your heart keeps returning to God’s Word. Fear grows when your thoughts keep rehearsing the problem. Faith grows when the promises of God become what you turn over again and again in your heart.
Psalm 1 gives us a picture of a fruitful life. The person who meditates on the Word day and night is like a tree planted by streams of water. That tree isn’t withering, striving, or barely surviving. It’s rooted, nourished, and producing fruit in season.
Meditation is not just reading a verse and moving on. It is staying with the Word long enough for it to move from information in your mind to revelation in your heart. It is coming back to the promise while you drive, work, pray, rest, and face decisions.
We’re all meditating on something. The question is whether our thoughts are planting life or fear. When you hold God’s Word in your heart, it begins to grow what God promised.
Reflect
- What thought pattern has been producing the wrong fruit in your life?
- What Scripture can you return to throughout the day?
Prayer
Father, help me recognize what I’ve been feeding my heart. Teach me to meditate on Your Word day and night so that Your truth produces fruit in my life.
