Stop the Wrong Movie
Self-Reflection
What movie has been playing in your mind that doesn’t agree with God’s Word?
Key Scripture
Romans 8:6
“For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.”
Devotional
Your mind can play a whole movie before anything has actually happened. One thought becomes a scene. One scene becomes an emotion. Before long, fear has written a story about your future and asked you to believe it.
That’s why you have to be proactive with the images you allow to stay. You can’t spend the morning declaring God’s Word, then let your mind run fear-based pictures all afternoon. You can say the right thing and still think the wrong thing. You can confess healing while picturing decline. You can declare provision while rehearsing lack.
But the wrong movie doesn’t have authority just because it feels vivid. You can stop it. You can say, “No, this isn’t the picture God gave me.” Then you can take Scripture and begin to repaint that scene. Where fear shows you anxiety, picture peace. Where fear shows you loss, picture God’s supply. Where fear shows you weakness, picture strength rising again.
A mind governed by the Spirit leads to life and peace. That doesn’t mean every circumstance instantly changes. It means your inner world doesn’t have to be ruled by the circumstance. God’s Word gives your faith something else to see, and that new picture can begin changing what you expect, how you feel, and how you walk forward with steadiness instead of fear. You are not powerless over what plays in your mind.
Reflect
What Scripture can you use today to stop and replace the wrong movie?
Prayer
Lord, help me recognize fear-based images quickly. Give me the discipline to stop what doesn’t agree with You and repaint my thoughts with Your Word. Let my mind be governed by the Spirit. In Jesus’ name, amen.
