See the Walls Down
Self-Reflection
What wall are you looking at that God has already spoken over?
Key Scripture
Joshua 6:2
“And the Lord said unto Joshua, See, I have given into thine hand Jericho.”
Devotional
Joshua stood in front of Jericho and saw a fortified city. The gates were shut. The walls were high. In the natural, nothing about that picture looked like victory.
Then God spoke one word that changed what Joshua needed to see: See. God didn’t say, “Wait until the walls fall, then believe I’ve given you the city.” He told Joshua to see the victory while the walls were still standing.
That’s faith. Faith sees the walls down before they move. It hears God’s Word and lets His promise become the greater reality. It doesn’t deny the obstacle, but it refuses to let the obstacle have the final word.
There may be something in your life that looks shut up right now. A door. A relationship. A financial situation. A healing journey. A dream that seems surrounded by impossibility. But if God has spoken, you don’t have to let the wall write the ending. You can let His Word paint the ending instead.
Ask the Lord to help you see what He sees. See the breakthrough. See the provision. See the peace. See the healing. See yourself walking in obedience with courage and strength. Not because the wall is small, but because God’s Word is greater.
The wall may still be visible today, but faith can already see it down before your feelings catch up today.
Reflect
What would change in your heart today if you saw the wall through God’s promise instead of fear?
Prayer
Father, help me see the walls down before they move. Give me courage to trust what You’ve spoken. In Jesus’ name, amen.
