Keep the Fire Burning
Reflection
What’s fueling your spiritual life right now?
Today’s Scripture
1 Corinthians 3:16
"You yourselves are God’s temple."
Devotional
In the Old Testament temple, the oil for the lamps was never supposed to run dry. The priests had to continually refill it so the fire would keep burning. That wasn’t optional. It was necessary.
Now Scripture says we are God’s temple.
That means our spiritual lives also require continual filling. We can’t expect to stay spiritually strong while constantly running on empty. We need God’s presence daily. We need time in His Word. We need moments where our faith is refreshed and our hearts reconnect with Him.
A lot of believers are spiritually exhausted because they’re trying to sustain themselves without staying filled. Life drains people quickly. Pressure drains people quickly. Disappointment drains people quickly. And if you never refill spiritually, eventually the fire starts fading.
God never intended you to live disconnected from His presence. The anointing strengthens you, refreshes you, and sustains you. It keeps you moving forward even in difficult seasons.
Sometimes people wait until they completely burn out before turning back toward God. But spiritual health is built daily. Little moments matter. Time in the Word matters. Worship matters. Prayer matters. Staying connected matters.
You were never meant to survive spiritually on yesterday’s oil.
Application
Spend intentional quiet time with God today before the demands of life take over.
Prayer
Lord, refill my heart and help me stay connected to Your presence daily.
