Hard Doesn’t Mean Forsaken

Have you ever assumed a hard season meant God’s favor had lifted?

Today’s Scripture

Hebrews 13:5
"Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you."

Devotional

One of the most damaging beliefs we can carry is the idea that easy life equals God’s favor and hard life means God has left. That sounds reasonable to the natural mind, but it is not the truth of Scripture.

Favor does not mean you will never face a fire. Favor means God is with you in it.

There will be seasons when life feels difficult, confusing, or unfair. You may be standing in faith and still facing pressure. You may be praying and still waiting. You may be doing the right thing and still walking through something you never would have chosen. But none of that proves God has abandoned you.

God’s favor is His presence with you. If you are in Christ, you do not move in and out of His presence every time circumstances change. He does not walk away because the season gets hard. He does not leave because you feel weak. He does not abandon you because the situation looks impossible.

The enemy wants hardship to make you question God’s nearness. But the Word says He will never leave you or forsake you. That promise does not only apply when life is peaceful. It applies in the trial, in the pressure, in the waiting, and in the fire.

Hard does not mean forsaken. God is with you here.

Application

When hardship tries to make you question God’s favor, remind yourself that His presence has not left you.

Prayer

Father, help me reject the lie that difficulty means distance and teach me to recognize Your presence with me.
