Your Boat Has Purpose
Reflection
What has God already placed in your hands that He may want to use?
Today’s Scripture
Luke 5:4-5
"Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch... nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net."
Devotional
Peter was not standing on a stage when Jesus stepped into his life. He was working. He was washing nets. He was doing what he knew to do. Then Jesus asked to use his boat.
That boat was ordinary to Peter. It was familiar. It was part of his workday. But in the hands of Jesus, it became a platform for the Word of God. Then, after Jesus finished speaking, He gave Peter an instruction that led to a miracle.
The miracle did not happen because Peter had perfect understanding. It happened because he obeyed. He had worked all night and caught nothing. He had every natural reason to hesitate. But he said, “At Your word, I will.”
Sometimes we are waiting for a different platform while God is asking to use the one we already have. We think purpose begins when life looks bigger, clearer, or more impressive. But Jesus often begins with what is already in front of us.
Your boat may be your home, your job, your skill, your experience, your family, your influence, or your current responsibility. It may not look extraordinary, but surrendered to Jesus, it can become a place where purpose begins to unfold.
Do not underestimate what is already in your hands. God can use it.
Application
Offer God one ordinary part of your life today and ask Him to use it for His purpose.
Prayer
Jesus, use what is already in my hands and help me obey Your Word with faith.
