Reflection

Have you overlooked the small signs that God is already moving?

Today’s Scripture

Zechariah 4:10
"Do not despise these small beginnings."

Devotional

Sometimes we miss what God is doing because we’re waiting for something bigger.

In her teaching, Pastor Kelli shared a powerful story about Pastor Jason experiencing a headache after years of neurological issues connected to Parkinson’s symptoms. Most people wouldn’t celebrate a headache, but in that moment it became evidence that something in his nervous system was responding differently. Instead of dismissing it, they praised God for the small victory.

That perspective matters because faith notices movement before the full breakthrough arrives.

Elijah understood this too. After praying for rain during a severe drought, his servant finally returned saying he saw a cloud the size of a man’s hand. It wasn’t impressive yet. It wasn’t the full storm. But Elijah recognized it as the beginning of answered prayer.

A lot of people talk themselves out of hope because the progress feels too small. But small victories often become seeds for much larger breakthroughs later. Healing can begin subtly. Restoration can begin quietly. Doors can begin opening slowly.

Faith learns to celebrate movement even before the final outcome fully appears.

Gratitude keeps your heart tender during the waiting season. It reminds you that God is still working, even if the process feels gradual. And sometimes the smallest shifts carry the greatest promise.
