Praise Before the Breakthrough
Reflection
Can you still praise God before you see the outcome change?
Today’s Scripture
Psalm 34:1
"I will bless the Lord at all times."
Devotional
It’s easy to praise God after the breakthrough arrives. It’s much harder to praise Him while you’re still standing in the middle of uncertainty.
That’s what made Jehoshaphat’s story so powerful. Judah was surrounded by armies. The threat was real. Fear would’ve been the natural response. But instead of collapsing emotionally, Jehoshaphat prayed, fasted, and reminded himself who God was. Then something unusual happened. God instructed the worshippers to go out ahead of the army.
Think about that. Praise led the battle before victory was visible.
That kind of praise only comes from faith. It comes from trusting God’s promise more than your present reality. In her message, Pastor Kelli pointed out that the people praised before the enemy was defeated because they already believed God was moving on their behalf.
Sometimes praise becomes your greatest act of spiritual warfare. Not fake positivity. Not pretending life is easy. Real praise in the middle of real pressure.
Pastor Kelli also shared Kathryn Kuhlman’s quote about praise building an altar for the fire of God to fall upon. There’s something powerful about worshipping God while tears are still falling and answers still haven’t arrived.
Praise shifts your focus. It reminds your heart who God is. And often, it strengthens your faith before your circumstances fully change.
