Devotional

The way you speak often reveals the way you see yourself. If you see yourself as powerless, your words will usually sound anxious. If you see yourself as forgotten, your words will often sound hopeless. But when you begin to understand that you're a child of God, your language starts to change.

Sons and daughters speak differently because they know who their Father is. They don't deny problems, but they also don't give problems the final word. They don't ignore storms, but they know they have authority to speak to them. They don't pretend everything is easy, but they choose to agree with God's Word above fear.

Jesus spoke with authority because He lived in agreement with the Father. His words came from identity, not insecurity. That's the pattern we are called to follow.

When you speak Scripture over your life, you're not trying to sound spiritual. You're training your heart to agree with truth. You're reminding your mind that fear doesn't get to define the future. You're refusing to let anxiety become the loudest voice in the room.

A slave talks about the storm as if it has all the power. A son speaks from the Father's promise. That shift matters because your words help frame your faith.

You belong to God. Let your words begin to sound like it.

Lord, help my words reflect faith, identity, and confidence in who You are.
