Faith That Reaches
Reflection
What promise of God do you need to reach for again?
Today’s Scripture
Mark 5:34
"Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be healed of your affliction."
Devotional
The woman with the issue of blood had every natural reason to give up. She had been sick for twelve years. She had spent her money seeking help. She had suffered disappointment again and again. But when she heard about Jesus, something shifted inside her.
She began to think differently.
Instead of rehearsing why nothing would ever change, she began to believe that if she could just touch His garment, she would be made well. That thought became faith. That faith became movement. She pressed through the crowd and reached for Jesus.
Many people were touching Jesus that day, but her touch was different. It was not casual. It was full of expectation. Jesus recognized that power had gone out from Him, and He told her, “Your faith has made you well.”
This is the kind of faith that grows when we truly know who Jesus is. It does not come begging from a distance. It comes believing that His goodness is available. It reaches when others might retreat. It presses forward when disappointment says, “Don’t try again.”
Maybe hope has felt harder to hold onto lately. Maybe you've prayed, waited, believed, and still found yourself wondering if anything will ever change. But Jesus is still worth reaching for. His power has not diminished. His compassion has not changed.
Faith thinks differently, and then faith reaches.
