See Yourself Able
Reflection
Do you see yourself through fear or through what God says?
Today’s Scripture
Numbers 13:30
"Let us go up at once and take possession, for we are well able to overcome it."
Devotional
Joshua and Caleb saw the same land as the other spies, but they did not give the same report. The difference was not the circumstances. The difference was the way they saw themselves in relation to God’s promise.
Ten spies saw giants and immediately felt small. Their words revealed their self-image: “We were like grasshoppers in our own sight.” They did not just see the enemy as big. They saw themselves as insignificant. That kind of thinking can stop a person from stepping into what God has already promised.
Caleb saw the giants, too, but he also saw God. His report was full of confidence: “We are well able to overcome it.” He was not pretending there were no obstacles. He simply refused to make the obstacle larger than the promise.
This matters because how you see yourself affects how you move forward. If you see yourself as small, weak, forgotten, or disqualified, you will shrink back from opportunities God may be opening. But when your identity is rooted in Him, courage begins to rise.
God did not create you to live small and afraid. He created you to walk with Him, trust His Word, and move forward when He says the land is yours.
The giants may be real, but they are not greater than God.
