Have you been measuring favor by circumstances instead of God's presence?

Today's Scripture

Genesis 39:2
“The Lord was with Joseph so that he prospered.”

Devotional

Joseph's story shows us something powerful. Favor is not where you are. Favor is who is with you. Joseph did not begin his life in a palace. He had no title and no influence. What he had was the presence of God.

Joseph was betrayed, thrown into a pit, and sold into slavery. If you judged the story by circumstances, it would look like favor had disappeared. Yet Scripture repeats the same truth again and again. The Lord was with Joseph.

Because God was with him, he prospered even in difficult places. Favor does not disappear in hard seasons. It is not seasonal. It is positional. When you know God is with you, circumstances no longer define your confidence.

Application

If you are in a difficult season, say this today: “Favor is not based on my circumstances. Favor is God being with me.”

Prayer

Father, anchor me in Your presence. Help me stop measuring my life by circumstances and remember that You are with me.
