Favor Does Not Expire

Have you assumed delay means God’s favor has lifted?

Today’s Scripture

Genesis 39:21
"But the Lord was with Joseph and showed him mercy, and He gave him favor in the sight of the keeper of the prison."

Devotional

Waiting can make favor feel invisible. When nothing seems to be changing, it is easy to wonder if God has forgotten, moved on, or withdrawn His hand. But Joseph’s life shows us that favor does not expire in delay.

Joseph interpreted dreams in prison, but one man who could have helped him forgot him for two full years. That kind of delay could have felt crushing. He had done the right thing. He had served faithfully. He had used the gift God gave him. And still, he waited.

But the waiting did not cancel the favor.

God was still working in the unseen places. The gift in Joseph’s life was still alive. The dream from his youth was still moving toward fulfillment. At the right time, Pharaoh had a dream, Joseph was called, and one day changed everything.

Favor does not always mean immediate promotion. Sometimes favor sustains you until the appointed door opens. It keeps you faithful when nobody notices. It protects the promise while you are still in process.

You may feel forgotten right now, but delay is not proof that favor has lifted. God’s timing can be hidden without being inactive.

If He is with you in the waiting, favor is still working.

Application

Choose faithfulness today in the place where you have been tempted to feel forgotten.

Prayer

Father, help me trust that Your favor is still working even when I cannot see movement yet.
