Guard Your Heart Like Soil
Reflection
Is your heart ready to receive what God is planting?
Today's Scripture
Luke 8:15
"But the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart."
Devotional
Your heart is like soil, and what grows there depends on what's planted and how it's cared for. Jesus explained that the Word can be taken away, fall away, or get choked out depending on the condition of the heart. That means your environment and focus matter.
If your heart is constantly distracted, overwhelmed, or filled with competing priorities, the Word struggles to take root. It isn't that the seed is weak. It's that the soil isn't prepared to sustain it.
Good soil is intentional. It holds onto the Word. It protects it. It continues to return to it even when life gets busy. Over time, that consistency produces fruit.
You don't have to wonder why something isn't growing. You can evaluate what you're allowing to take up space in your heart and make adjustments.
Application
Remove one distraction today that is crowding out the Word.
Prayer
Lord, prepare my heart to be good soil so Your Word can grow and produce fruit in my life.
