Protect What Fills You
Reflection
What voices are shaping your faith the most right now?
Today’s Scripture
Proverbs 4:23
"Keep your heart with all diligence."
Devotional
Jesus taught that powerful prayer starts with what’s living inside your heart. That’s why protecting what fills your mind matters so much.
The world constantly fights for your attention. News, social media, fear, negativity, comparison, and anxiety all compete for space in your thoughts every single day. And if you aren’t careful, those voices slowly begin shaping how you think, pray, and believe.
That’s why Scripture says to guard your heart. Whatever consistently enters your heart eventually affects your faith. You can’t feed yourself fear all day long and expect confidence in prayer to come naturally.
Sometimes protecting your faith means stepping away from things that drain you spiritually. It may mean changing what you listen to, watch, or spend time consuming. Not because you’re trying to be religious, but because you’re protecting what God is building inside you.
Jesus said to abide in His Word because His Word produces life. The more truth fills your heart, the more naturally faith begins flowing from you. And when faith fills your heart, your prayers become stronger, steadier, and more effective.
What fills you eventually flows out of you.
