Pray with Confidence
Reflection
Do you truly believe God hears and responds when you pray?
Today’s Scripture
John 14:13
"Whatever you ask in My name, that I will do."
Devotional
Many believers feel frustrated with prayer because they don’t see anything happening. They pray, they wait, and eventually they wonder if they’re even saying the right things. But Jesus never intended prayer to feel powerless or uncertain. In fact, He taught His disciples to pray with confidence.
When Jesus said, “Whatever you ask in My name, that I will do,” He wasn’t giving us a religious phrase to tack onto the end of a prayer. He was teaching us authority. Praying in the name of Jesus means you’re praying from His victory, not your own strength. His power backs your prayer. His authority stands behind what you’re asking.
That changes the way you approach prayer. You’re not begging God to care about your situation. You’re coming boldly because Jesus already opened the door for you. Heaven responds to His name. Philippians says every knee must bow to the name of Jesus. Fear bows. Sickness bows. Anxiety bows. Lack bows.
Prayer becomes powerful when you stop seeing yourself as powerless. Jesus repeated Himself on purpose to help His followers understand the authority they carried. And that same authority belongs to you today. You can pray confidently knowing heaven hears you and responds to the name of Jesus.
Application
Pray boldly today instead of apologetically.
Prayer
