See the Promise Clearly
Reflection
What would your breakthrough actually look like?
Today’s Scripture
Genesis 15:5
"Look up at the sky and count the stars... so shall your offspring be."
Devotional
When God gave Abraham the promise that he would become the father of many nations, the circumstances around him completely contradicted it. He and Sarah were getting older, and nothing about the situation looked possible. But instead of only speaking the promise, God gave Abraham something to picture.
He told him to look at the stars.
Every night Abraham stepped outside and looked at the sky, God was strengthening his faith through a picture. Those stars became more than lights in the darkness. They became a visual reminder of what God had promised.
That’s how faith often works. God doesn’t just want you repeating verses mechanically. He wants you to see yourself living in the promise. To picture healing. To picture peace. To picture restoration. To picture freedom from fear and anxiety.
The pictures in your mind shape your expectation. And your expectation affects how you walk through life.
If fear keeps painting the future for you, eventually discouragement takes over. But when God’s promises become the dominant picture in your heart, hope starts growing again.
Faith sees before it physically sees. That’s why you have to picture your moment long before it fully arrives.
