What truth do you need to remember when fear tries to magnify the problem?

Today's Scripture

1 Samuel 17:45
"David said to the Philistine, 'You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty.'"

Devotional

Fear magnifies the problem. Faith magnifies God.

Israel saw Goliath every day and became frozen in fear. His threats were loud, repeated, and intimidating. Over time, the giant became larger in their minds than the God who had made covenant with them.

Then David walked onto the same battlefield. He heard the same threats. He saw the same giant. But he had a different mindset. He did not measure himself against Goliath. He measured Goliath against God.

That is what a Spirit-governed mind does. It stops living only by what it sees and starts standing on what it knows. It says, “I know God is my healer. I know God is my provider. I know God is my refuge. I know God is faithful.”

There will be moments when fear tries to make the report, the symptom, the bill, the conflict, or the delay look bigger than the promise. But you do not have to rehearse fear. You can rehearse truth.

David did not need the giant to shrink before he had courage. He needed his mind anchored in who God was.

Your storm may still look real. Your mountain may still look tall. But God is not smaller than what you are facing.

Application

Write down one thing you know to be true about God and rehearse it throughout the day.

Prayer

Father, help me stop magnifying the problem and start magnifying who You are.
