What would change if you approached God today with childlike trust instead of strain?

Devotional

Children don’t usually overcomplicate receiving. They trust the heart of the one giving. That’s one reason Jesus pointed to childlike faith. So many adults approach God with a mixture of doubt, pressure, and self-conscious effort. They want to believe, but they’re still measuring whether they qualify. Childlike faith looks different. It doesn’t deny need, but it doesn’t treat God like He has to be talked into being generous either.

You can see that same kind of confidence in the woman with the issue of blood. She didn’t come wondering whether Jesus might be willing to heal her. In her heart, something had already settled. She believed there was healing in Him, and she reached accordingly. Her faith responded to what was available. That’s what receiving looks like. It reaches because it believes grace has already made provision.

There are moments when spiritual maturity looks less like trying harder and more like simplifying your response. Instead of analyzing everything, come close. Instead of bargaining, receive. Instead of keeping score, trust your Father. Childlike faith says, ‘If You said it, I believe You meant it for me.’ That kind of posture brings rest to the soul. It quiets striving and opens the heart. God isn’t asking you to impress Him today. He’s inviting you to trust Him. Whatever promise you’re holding onto, bring it to Him with open hands and a simple heart. Receive it like a child who knows the Father is good.

Come to God simply today, and receive His promise with trust instead of strain.

Prayer

Father, help me come to You with simple, childlike trust. Quiet the striving in my heart and teach me to receive what You’ve freely provided. In Jesus’ name, amen.
