Favor Doesn’t Mean Easy

Reflection

Have you ever wondered why someone with God's favor still faced difficult circumstances?

Today's Scripture

1 Samuel 18:14
"In everything he did he had great success, because the Lord was with him."

Devotional

David's life shows us what favor really looks like. The Bible says the Lord was with him and that he succeeded in what he did. Yet David's life wasn't easy.

King Saul became jealous of David and even tried to kill him. David had to run for his life and spent time hiding in caves. If you only looked at his circumstances, you'd probably assume God's favor had left him.

But Scripture repeats something important. The Lord was still with him. Favor didn't remove the battles David faced. Favor meant God stayed with him through those battles. God's presence protected him and guided him through every season of his life.

Application

If you're facing pressure today, remind yourself that God's presence is still with you in this season.

Prayer

Lord, thank You for staying with me through every season. Help me trust that You are working even when life feels difficult.
