Favor Is God's Presence

Favor Is God's Presence

Reflection

Do you see God's favor as something you earn or something you receive?

Today's Scripture

Hebrews 13:5
"Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you."

Devotional

Many believers live as if God's favor comes and goes. It can feel like you're in favor when you've been doing well, but out of favor when you've made mistakes or things aren't going your way. That kind of thinking puts pressure on your performance, but that's not how God's favor works.

Favor isn't something you earn. It's something you receive. The favor of God is simply the presence of God in your life. Because you're in Christ and Christ is in you, His presence goes with you everywhere you go. It doesn't depend on whether you've had a perfect week or whether you feel spiritually strong.

When you really understand that truth, it brings freedom. Instead of striving to impress God, you begin living from the relationship you already have with Him. Even when you fail, His presence remains. You can come to Him, receive forgiveness, and keep moving forward. Favor isn't based on perfection. It's based on who you are in Christ.

Application

Take a moment today to say out loud, “I'm in Christ and Christ is in me, so His presence goes with me everywhere.”

Prayer

Lord, thank You that Your presence stays with me. Help me stop striving to earn what You've already given through Jesus.
